I attended Italian lessons with Paola for nearly three years while working at Mulberry. I really enjoyed the lessons which Paola taught and therefore made every effort to attend as much as possible. Paola was very flexible in how she taught Italian and was keen to tailor the course so that it met the needs which we had in the fashion and leather industry. She also spent time preparing lots of background material which was relevant to our industry. We were provided with lots of suitable exercises and handouts. Paola is a keen tutor and made sure that the lessons were enjoyable by providing fun exercises and occasional Italian treats to make the learning more fun. It was a good experience working with Paola and it gave me a good basic level in Italian which helped during my previous job and also in subsequent experiences. Paola cared very much about our lessons, what we were learning and worked hard to ensure that we were content in our learning.

After looking extensively for intensive Italian beginners’ classes online and not finding any courses that matched my requirements, I decided to opt for one-to-one tuition. I hired Paola as a private French tutor, to get my rusty French speaking up to speed, shortly before going on tour to France. She succeeded in getting me up to a confident conversation level, covering not only the basic grammar and vocabulary, but also some of the colloquial phrases, which proved to be key in mingling and making new friends!
The thing that immediately strikes you about Paola is her patience. She tailors her lessons to her client’s specific needs, always going at a pace that’s manageable. Paola also has an incredible enthusiasm for teaching. She has a very engaging technique, whereby one doesn’t feel the labour of learning, but rather more having had a fun chat in a different language, knowing a bit more than you did before. Paola was flexible about meeting points, and would happily travel to either my home, out in cafes, or even in parks!
